The commitment is Tuesday and Thursday evenings from the end of September to early April, 6-9 pm, and the compensation is generous. Anybody interested in teaching should contact Mike Scallon ASAP at 401-545-7944 or mikescallon@cox.net.
The RI Master Plumber & Mechanical Association’s Apprenticeship Training Program is a private, non-profit, school offering the accredited educational hours required by the RI general laws sanctioned by the Rhode Island Department of Labor & Training. For more information on trade licensing requirements, please visit the RIDLT Division of Professional Regulation website.
Apprentice Plumbers are required to complete 576 educational hours within a 5 year period. Apprentice Pipefitters are required to complete 288 educational hours, typically within a 2 year period.
Every year over 75 students choose our school to learn the theory of plumbing and pipefitting. Classroom training provides them with the necessary skills required for the Journeyman Plumber and Pipefitter exams, and to succeed in their careers. Upon completing the required accredited hours, our students obtain a combination of technical and critical thinking skills. In order to maintain the highest levels of learning and training, we provide informative training seminars and manufacturer plant field trips including incentives to attend outside training seminars to increase their knowledge of the newest and upcoming products as they become available.
New students who have paid their first semester tuition in full will receive one FREE copy of the IPC or IMC Code and Commentary currently being used in the state of RI.
